Macquarie University Elite Athletes and Performers Entry Scheme and Macquarie University Sport Scholarship
Elite Athletes and Artistic Performers Scheme (EAAPS)
For Students seeking Admission through UAC to a Macquarie University Bachelor Degree in Session 1 2012
The Elite Athletes and Artistic Performers Scheme is designed for applicants who believe that their performing, training and/or competitive commitments have affected their HSC or study preparation in the past two years. Macquarie University's Ranking Committee will consider the circumstances of the applicant and determine if they are eligible for four (4) bonus points.
Approval under the EAAP scheme does not guarantee admission but allows applicants who have been assessed as being “elite” and whose competitive commitments have impeded their study performance to compete for a place up to four points below the course cut-off for the year of admission. Approval under this scheme does not guarantee a successful Sport Scholarship application.
The University's Ranking Committee will assess all applications and determine their eligibility to receive the bonus points.
Applicants will be notified by mail of the outcome of their application by the end of December. Successful applicants will be considered for a place in a degree which has a cut-off between one and four points above their own.
Student Eligibility
For both Year 11 & 12 and Non-Secondary school applicants the activity which affected the applicant's study performance must have occurred in the past two years.
Elite Athletes
Applications for elite athletes will be assessed using the following seven (7) points as criteria. An applicant had to meet at least one (1) of the seven stated criteria to be assessed as an elite student athlete and eligible for bonus points under this scheme providing that he or she also achieves the required ATAR rank..
